Littlehampton Easter Open 2016:

It was another enjoyable day at The Terrace Club in Littlehampton for the Easter Open.
Players from across the south stepped up to the oche to play in a number of events during the day.

The ladies pairs was won by Rhonda West and Hayley Gatford who beat Denise Peake and Jules Saldanha in a closely fought final which saw a 152 finish by Denise. Losing semi-finalists were Maureen Dempsey/Jo Blaker and Emily White/Lisa Withers.

The men's pairs was won by Littlehampton duo Craig Stoner and Cliff Prior who beat Worthing pair Lee Gladman and Richard Stanford in the final. Losing semi-finalists were James Stephenson/Rob Cross and Jim Withers/Tony Oak.

On to the ladies singles and the winner of this event was Sussex youth player Emily White from Eastbourne. Emily beat Denise Peake in another close final. Losing semi-finalists were Lisa Withers and Paula Duckett.

The men's singles was won by a limping Jim Withers from Eastbourne. Jim played all day with his knee strapped up but still managed to turn on the class winning a hard fought final against Littlehampton's Cliff Prior. Jim also took out a 158 finish earning him the highest finish of the day. Losing semi-finalists were Rob Cross from Hastings and Martin Harle from London.

The plate competition was mixed with men and women and was won by Brighton's Graham Harris. Graham beat the other Graham.... "Crofty" from Worthing. Losing semi-finalists were Jack Croft and Jack Cuttenden.

Thank you to all the participants last night, with a big thank you to Jorden and Craig who made last night run so smoothly. There was a good standard of darts all round. Blind pairs was followed by round robin for singles stage.your Blind pairs winners were.. Joseph Langridge and Mick Rodgers, runners up were Joshua Langridge and Simon Wood. Singles winner is Joseph Langridge, Runner up Cliff Prior, with the losing semi finalists Jason Yates and Andy Macintosh.

A great day was had at the Clubcue in Worthing yesterday, with a very high standard of darts all round.We started off with our new event, the "5-a-side", which was won by "One Weak Link" Hampshire boys Andy Jenkins, Ricky Williams, Danny Pinhorne, Charlie Jackson and Ben Marley from Chichester. They beat "4 Poofs and a Piano" which consisted of Bradley Kirk, Carl Minter, Mick Street, Dai Lewis and Mark Budd.Losing semi-finalists in the 5-a-side were "Four Play with The Asset", a team made up with the Littlehampton boys and Paul "The Asset" Nicholson.... and in the other semi, the "Little Sh*ts" featuring a team of youth stars including Lewis Gurney and Dan Perry.The Open Singles event was won by the in-form Bradley Kirk from Hampshire beating fellow top Hampshire player Ricky Williams in a very close final which could have gone either way.Losing semi-finalists were Courtney Wilson and Andy Jenkins.The plate competition was won by Danny Pinhorne beating Craig Stoner in the final.Around £1800 was paid out on the day, including the Bullshoot, which was won by Sussex darts player Jason Yates.A massive thank you to David Ballantine, Simon Langridge and Charbie Broadway for running a fantastic day of darts. Without people like this, giving up their time, we wouldn't have any darts competitions.Thank you to all of the players that travelled from all over the South of England to play in this event.Our last thank you must go to Andrew Connor and the staff of Clubcue Leisure who were non-stop all day. They also had a county pool match on downstairs!!u want.
