What...A...Day... 🤪

We were at the “cosy” Sportsman Club in Littlehampton, yesterday, for the “Arrow Taxis Christmas Open. A great day was had by all... particularly the bar till.

A field of 117 players, from all over the South of England, competed in the days events.

The men’s singles was won by the in-form “T-man” Tony Ayres (Sussex) who beat England international “Crocodile Dundee” Paul Hogan (Berkshire) in the final.
Semi-finalists were Harry Jackson (Sussex) and Lukasz Sawicki (London).
Quarter-finalists were Rob Collins (Sussex), Simon Parsons (Sussex), Tavis Dudeney (Sussex) and Jorden Langridge (Sussex).

The ladies singles was won by Trish “The” Kidd (Sussex) who beat Michelle Harradine (Isle Of Wight).
Semi-finalists were Corrine Hammond (Australia) and Claire King (Sussex).

In the youth, Reece Pauling (Kent) defeated Sussex Youth superstar Tavis Dudeney.

Somehow, we had time to do a “flying pairs” and the winners of that were Sussex youth player Adam Pranskus and Dan Bowley (Sussex) - they defeated top Sussex county duo Trish Kidd and Jason Yates.

Over £1150 was paid out on the day!!

These events aren’t easy to put on and require a lot of help and support from volunteers who get down to the venue early to set up - and take down the following day. Also the hard job of running the day, which Luci Cunningham and Denise Peake did a fantastic job.
No profit is made by the organisers or volunteers (just the bar lol).
We do this purely for the love of our great game.

We would like to thank all of the people who helped make this event happen... far too many to mention... the volunteers, the venue, our sponsors and most of all THE PLAYERS!!

Trophies provided by David O Jones Sports Shop.

Until next time...... 🎯🍺👍

HAPPY NEW YEAR
